84% of all streets in São Paulo that honor people in their names refer to men.

We've created a website, in which people could vote and nominate women who deserve to be honored in São Paulo's streets. Then we compiled all the suggests names by users into a special edition of the newspaper. On march 8, 2017, International Women's day, we handed it to the politicians responsible to name streets.

The Tech Solution

All user suggestions were collected through a responsive webapp and validated by a research team that verified that the nomination would be eligible for street naming in accordance with local law.
If so, the nomination became available for voting. During the voting period, the system stored the voting IPs for the case of need for future audit.
On the site it was possible to see also some related curiosities as well as the voting ranking.
